This is Step 1

1. Have the children stand in a single file line from the shortest player to the tallest player. Then simply have the first child go to the left and the second child go the right until you have two new lines that are evenly divided by size.
   2. Have the players in both lines stand shoulder to shoulder. The two lines should be facing the other line. Have about 15 feet between the two lines.
   3. Ask players to hold hands, then spread out to the left and right so that all players hands are stretched out to their sides and holding the players hand next to
   them, making a WALL.
   4. The first team calls out: “Red Rover Red Rover send “Raj’ Right Over.” Raj, from the other team, looks for a WEAK SPOT to break through, if he breaks through, he takes a player from that team back to his team. If he does not break through then he must stay on that team.
   5. Take turns allowing each team to call out: “Red Rover Red Rover send “Raj’ Right Over.

Home: Hello! My name is Amy. I live with my parents and my little brother Kitty. We have a warm home where we sleep safely at night.  Mommy and daddy work hard to keep our home clean, healthy, and safe.  Mommy gives us food and daddy fixes things that need repair. I help with some chores but Kitty is naughty. He plays all the time. He doesn’t even do his homework properly.  Mommy tells me to keep an eye on him. Our favorite time is bed-time when mummy a bible story every night. We love listening to her stories!

After we are tucked in, mummy begins. Daddy is still busy. He is fixing the lock on the main door. Mommy says, “The people of Israel were disobedient once again. And disobedience has consequences, children.  This is the story of Nehemiah. He was captured and taken to a foreign land as a slave.” Hmm… I wonder what it must be like to be a slave. Poor Nehemiah.  Mommy continued, as she patted Kitty’s hair. “At that time, Nehemiah was made the cup bearer to King Artaxerxes of Persia. Nehemiah’s job was to taste the king’s food to protect him from possible poisoning.”  “That’s what mommy does before she feed us” Kitty observes. Yes, she always makes sure that the salt and
chilly are ok before daddy eats, and also cools the food before giving it to Kitty and me.

Mommy continues, “Jerusalem was being destroyed.  Enemies brought down the city wall! Can you imagine how upset we would get if someone destroyed the walls of our home?” Sunny jumps up and begins boxing an imaginary enemy! Mommy continues, “Nehemiah was so sad. He cried for many days. He fasted and prayed to God and confessed the sins of his people begging God’s forgiveness.” Kitty got on his knees and pretended to cry. “With the permission of the King, Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem, to rebuild the wall! Praise God!” “Just like daddy, Nehemiah did not give up. He worked hard, and with the help of the people and the protection of God, he rebuilt the
wall in just 52 days.”

“Look around, children. There are broken families everywhere. Communities are crying to be rebuilt.  Even Earth needs more plants clean water. The Lord needs YOU in His work in restoring all this! Will you help?” Both of us promise, “Yes, mommy!”  Mommy prays, “Dear God, let the story of Nehemiah’s commitment to rebuilding Jerusalem, be an inspiration to all of us. Amen.” We too say “Amen” and go to sleep. I wonder what tomorrow’s story will be…
