2 BIBLE DISCOVERIES: Gospel & Truth - Mark 1:1-8

Game / Bible / Life Connection:  In the Game someone called you so you can play / In the Bible God called John the Baptist to prepare the way for Jesus / In your Life God is calling you to share about Jesus

Who is John The Baptist:
John the Baptist is a prophet, a prophet means a person “called” by God to do special works for the God.   John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.   Wow he’s so different, yet he’s special in God!

John the Baptist mission:
He appeared in the wilderness, and you know what he do?  He’s preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.  The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him.  Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

John is the one called by God to prepare the way for the Jesus Christ.  And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.  I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”    What He is telling about is the purpose of Jesus when He comes.

When God calls:
God can call any person and whenever He calls He gave a special assignment, that is to share the truth and His goodness.  Anyone called by God is special in His eyes.  He can call you too, prepare your heart to response.
